Journaling is an important activity to do as it has so many benefits to it. Many include:
- Helps managing with anxiety - Can reduce stress -Can help cope with depression - Help to express and control your emotions and improve your moods When writing out your thoughts, it can help you see what is important in terms of emotions or behaviors. It would be helpful to start journaling. Giving yourself a prompt or question to start would be great as you would be writing something different every time. This could also introduce different kinds of journaling instead of just writing about how you feel
Writing could be the start, but as time goes on the you might want to start delving in journaling and can find out there are many types of journaling some include - Visual Journaling-May also be called art journaling, instead of writing, you can express your feelings through artistic ways such as drawing, pasting pictures, painting etc. - Unsent Letter Journaling- Writing a letter to someone about how you feel about them or in general. You may not send this or you can. - Gratitude Journaling: Writing about what you are grateful for, could be people, things, events - Self Love Journaling- write positive things about yourself that can buold confidence and can help see yourself in a better way A good way to start is to have a book, journal or sketchbook and start putting things in everyday or as necessary as possible. |
